Exploring Sense of Belonging Through Transitional and Memory Objects in the Diasporic Experience: Affective Materiality in Diasporic Belonging? |
Originally from Bangladesh, Nowrin Munir is currently pursuing an MA in Visual Anthropology, Media, and Documentary Practices at the University of Münster. With over a decade of experience as a freelance video editor and assistant director, Nowrin specializes (among other things) in post-production and collaborative film projects. Her professional background also includes working as an entertainment journalist and radio producer, providing well-rounded perspectives and creative delivery on Visual and Audio storytelling.
After finishing her bachelor’s in Cinema, Nowrin chose this master’s program to explore the intersection of anthropology and documentary filmmaking, with a focus on using visual media to engage with cultural narratives. Nowrin particularly values the program’s theoretical approach, essential in shaping her professional development. Her graduation film, which is currently a work in progress, blends anthropological research with visual storytelling, demonstrating the skills and insights gained during her studies.
