We will be showing the following three films:

Elikem Ayeke: Dↄla La Wo ( The Messengers )

Synopsis: Ghanaian rapper and visual artist Worlasi is an activist who uses his music to expose power abuse and injustice. His journey began in 2015, utilizing music as a therapeutic means to express his societal concerns. Despite the challenges of Ghana’s music industry, he’s risen to fame by speaking his truth, facing a reality that evokes both happiness and anger.

Worlasi is determined to be remembered as an artist who stood for more than just good music. Though he struggles with the financial demands of promotion, he’s fueled by his fans’ support. He encourages his followers to invest in his art and shows, allowing him to survive and pursue his ultimate goal: creating impactful music with an untamed spirit.

Paulina Yerter (in colaboración with Mysore Shala Berlin ): Coming Home. Beyond Ashtanga Yoga

Synopsis: Coming Home: Beyond Ashtanga Yoga is a journey into the deepest layers of practice. The film invites us to go beyond what is seen on the mat and enter the inner world of yoga: perceiving and inhabiting the body in silence, returning to the breath, and sensing our connection with the whole. Through a circular narrative and a participatory approach, images and sounds become a mirror of the inner experience. Rather than explain, the film invites us to experience, reminding us that practice can also be a way of coming home.

Joseph Puglisi: How can we see our commons when everything looks enclosed?

Synopsis: In a small gallery in Antwerpen Belgium a vernissage introduction turns into a journey to find commoners in the North Sea and simultaneously common the artist’s own enclosed imagination. Based on an exhibition speech and its corresponding experiments with video, audio, photo and even embroidery, this film takes a long look at the potential for reframing visual language amidst ecological and economic ruins.

We hope to see many of you at the screening!
