Boris Mitic: Introduction to module 6 "Professional Project Development & Funding Strategies"

Boris Mitic is one of our lecturers who teaches in module 6 “Professional Project Development & Funding Strategies”. Module 6 runs for 10 days and consists of two parts:

In the first part (taught by Laurent Van Lancker & Thomas John), experimental, sensory and collaborative audio-visual narrative strategies and methods will be taught, case studies and films will be examined and discussed with theoretical perspectives from social anthropology and documentary art. There will also be an emphasis on student video and media practice. Each student will produce around six short video and audio assignments related to the above-mentioned audiovisual narrative strategies during the workshop period. All assignments are reviewed and discussed on a daily basis during the workshop. Students experiment and expand their creative skills and develop a creative identity in dialogue with teachers and fellow students.

The second part is a workshop that trains students in writing a professional film project synopsis. In the seminar, filmmakers’ projects are presented and video-conference discussions are held with filmmakers to discuss their films and the experience behind each project proposal. Funding strategies are taught and the students’ project drafts are discussed in terms of how they can be improved and what funding options might be suitable for them. During the seminar, students continue to work on their projects which are presented, debated and further developed. At the end of the seminar, each participant should have developed a presentable draft of a project proposal.

In the video on this page, Boris Mitic talks in detail about his seminar and its contents.
